What happens when the people running the company are overloaded?
We have spent
Technology.
Processes.
Strategy.
Organisational structures.
Leadership models.
Data.
Automation.
And now AI. We keep making the machine around the human more intelligent.
But rarely do we stop and ask:
I keep seeing the same thing. Not incompetence. Not a lack of ambition. Quite the opposite.
I see highly capable people operating from a system that has very little capacity left.
Leaders carrying too many decisions. Executives switching constantly between strategy, people, customers, technology and an endless stream of information.
Teams running on urgency. People who are technically performing, but internally operating at the edge of their capacity.
And because they are capable, they keep going. Capacity can disappear long before performance does.
You can still deliver.
Still show up.
Still make the meeting.
Still hit the target.
Still look composed.
While the system underneath is slowly losing flexibility.
And we tend to treat the consequences as separate problems.
Performance over there.
Leadership somewhere else.
Nutrition as a personal issue.
Energy as a lifestyle issue.
Motivation as a mindset issue.
Behaviour as a people issue.
They aren't separate.
They are different expressions of the same
So perhaps the more fundamental question is: What would happen if we
